waiting . . .

I remember, as a child on Easter Eve, standing in church holding my little candle, mesmerized by the tiny, flickering flame. I remember looking around the dark sanctuary and seeing the multitude of tiny flickering flames …

all waiting

My daughter has been playing a song lately – a catchy tune by Ben Kweller. I read the lyrics and caught something of the deep longing that is in every single heart. It makes me want to say “Ben, come light a candle and wait with us – He is coming and all will be made right.”

I wait, I wait

For something good, for something great

Ben Kweller

Happy Easter to you too missm! And many blessings to you and your little boys. Here is something fun – watch Ben’s 82 year old grandma dance to his song.

    So cute 🙂

  2. A great invitation. Jesus really is all that’s good and all that’s great. I love the image of you as a little one holding that candle, mesmerised. Jesus is like that, a mesmerising light in an often dark place. I’m glad we’re waiting for Him. I’m glad we know he will return. Happy Easter, lovely k.
