Girl With Lilac

The Time of the Lilacs
Art work by Sophie Anderson

Don’t I wish I could bottle this scent and send it to you…

Anne dropped on her knees and gazed out into the June morning, her eyes glistening with delight. Oh, wasn’t it beautiful? Wasn’t it a lovely place…

In the garden below were lilac-trees purple with flowers, and their dizzily sweet fragrance drifted up to the window on the morning wind.

More sweet times.

Revival In Belfast 3 conference starts this Thursday! And my Irish boy is flying home on the same flight as Robin, Paul and Priscilla.

It’s an incredible, wonderful, exciting time! We look forward to what the Lord has in store.

We are singing “Revival” with all our hearts!

I’d cherish your prayers.

  1. The lilacs have come now to the island. I am smiling for you, drinking them in deeply. And the peonies soon then too?(Dh’s favorite CDs are Robin Mark’s–we saw him in concert last year. You are being upheld in prayer–revival in all of our hearts: yes, Lord, yes.)I send love,Ann

Lovely artwork, quote and sentiments! And…I will join in prayer for your revival…What a blessed time you will be having! Wish our family could join you there. I emailed my friends who are visiting your gentle Island and told them about it…who knows? They might decide to drop in on you!Blessings and may you experience the presence of the Lord in a rich and worshipful manner!

  3. Valerie – you know I’m not sure – I think they should bloom the first season. So many of the lilac bushes here on the Island are old – almost every farmhouse has one or two. At my childhood home we had a hedge of them. And they bloom like crazy here on the Island.

  4. Thank you ladies for your prayers – when I say we CHERISH them I really mean it!! It’s such an exciting, yet busy, few days – it is sometimes easy to get caught up in the activities, yet we don’t want to miss what the Lord wants to do among us.We need to remain focussed on the leading of the Holy Spirit.Suzanne – this is the same conference – third year in a row!Jeanne – I’ve never heard of that singer – I’ll have to look for one of his CDs.Lovella – I think that tour was in 1994 and we heard him here on the Island. We also heard him sing with his father’s quartet – it was so neat to hear the two generations praising the Lord – very different styles – but joining together. If any of you ladies don’t have Robin Mark’s CD Revival in Belfast – I say get it!! It’s one of the best praise and worships CDs I own. I’ve had it for years. We sing all the songs at our church. It’s so worshipful.

  5. Blessings on you. May the Lord truly bless and work in the hearts of the Islanders. About the Brian Doerksen song. I was told that he wrote that album on a cross Canada trip with his family. When you read the words, it makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Also, we heard him sing it this spring at his concert.

  6. It’s here on PEI Ellen – we live in Belfast PEI – funny isn’t it?? It’s the third year in a row that we have had Robin Mark, and Paul and Priscilla Reid (our speakers and the pastor of Robin’s homechurch.)Thank you for your prayers!

  7. I’ll be praying. I’ve been enjoying Celtic Worship Live from Ireland for over a week now. Lot of the same songs listed above on the CD. Is this conference on your Island or in Ireland?
