Christmas, Recipes

Christmas prep . . .

Phew! The presents are wrapped and under the tree. Definitely NOT my favourite part of the Christmas prep.

I’m a maniac … uh, very focused, when I wrap.

I shut myself in the bedroom with my laptop and favourite movies (“The Bishop’s Wife”, “Roman Holiday” and “Pride and Prejudice”) and then I do NOT stop until I’m finished.  At 1 pm last night, I tied the final bow.

And now for the fun stuff … Christmas cookie baking.

I am trying some recipes from this  site, aptly named”Joy of Baking”. (pictures below)

The kitchen is rich with spicy Christmas scents

And soon my countertops will be filled with row upon row of baked goodies.

  1. I’m hungry for a peanut butter ball. That would be my greatest weakness on the treat plate.I just laughed at your wrapping story. We could do it together . .I feel the very same way . .Glad mine is done too.Kathie, thank you for sharing that comment on my depression post. You have no idea what it meant to me. . .thank you so much.

  3. Yummy! I’ve just got a couple things left to make. The McLaren’s Cheese shortbread cookies my son requested, they’re his favorite, and the Russian teacake cookies, too. And a couple pans of toffee which is absolutely delish and so easy. I’ve been taking the wrapping easier this year. Instead of doing it all at once and I have to say I enjoyed it more. It was less of a chore.
