Normally, Jack loves to come with me and Sophie for a walk. He’ll stay about 20 paces behind and meow the whole time.
But, like all sensible cats, he doesn’t like snow. He will only walk in my tracks.
Notice the wary look on his face? He’s keeping an eye out for someone. Someone who loves Jack – and loves snow – and loves to play!
Oh oh! Here she comes!
Sophie goes wild in the snow. She runs in crazy circles and jumps in the air. She buries her head deep in the snow and then flips it up in the air – a little snow whirlwind.
Jack is not like most cats. He never runs away when Sophie charges. Most cats would hightail it up a tree but Jack has a different strategy – he lays down before Sophie even gets there. Sophie will jump and prance, trying to get him going, but Jack just looks at her. Some might call him lazy – but he says he’s a lover not a fighter.
But he sure wishes that Sophie would quit kicking that snow in his face.
“Somebody rescue me!”
I took pity on him and he got a ride back to the house, purring all the way.
