A lot of excitement in PEI this week!!
Little baby Xan made his appearance early Monday morning!
Grandma is in baby heaven.
Having your best friend become a Grandma is as close as it gets to the real thing.
My daughter Sarah considers herself an auntie and I’m a very happy great-auntie.
Xan’s arrival was just in time!
Several hours after his birth PEI was hit with a history-making ice storm.
Our end of the Island was spared the worst of the storm – the precipitation fell mainly as rain here. The roads were messy with all the ice, slush and melting snow but we only lost power for a few hours. But “up west”, as we Islanders call the western end of the Island, was hit very hard. Four days later they are still without power. These pictures are from the local newspaper.
Maritime Electric crews are working around the clock but 90 kilometer winds last night didn’t help. Power crews from our neighbouring province, Nova Scotia, have arrived to help with the massive clean-up. The sun finally came out this morning – it’s a glorious day and the crews should be able to make good progress.
I’m heading into town for a stress test. If you have a moment, please pray for me. I don’t like this test. But, you walking club members will be glad to know that I have my pedometer strapped on so we’ll see how many steps I add! And if I’m not too worn out when I get home, I’m going to take another walk in this beautiful sunshine – with my camera. I noticed the little squirrels are out – they must think it’s spring. I’m hoping to get a picture for Project 366.
Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine where you are today too!
