Island Life, summer

wonder

…Down at the base of the cliffs were heaps of surf-worn rocks or little sandy coves inlaid with pebbles as with ocean jewels; beyond lay the sea, shimmering and blue, and over it soared the gulls, their pinions flashing silvery in the sunlight.

“Isn’t the sea wonderful?” said Anne, rousing from a long, wide-eyed silence*…

Isn’t it lovely girls? yes especially the second one – it’s no surprise that my swimming/kayaking/photo-taking buddy had my camera in her hand and snapped that shot. I wouldn’t want to take the credit – although I’ll take credit for choosing such a talented friend!

Hi Kathie!I’ve received the Anne hat and tea and book marker. So lovely, oh and the beautiful stamps on the box were a treat as well. I am writing this from our library reference desk. I took the Anne hat to work today, and we had an impromptu "Anne of Green Gables goes to North Harris College" celebration. I will be posting pictures of all our librarians do turns as "Anne" after I finish catching up on my travel journal.Thank you for your gift and thank you more for the fun. We librarians are a much more fun and wilder group than most people would imagine. Wish you could have been here too!Jill

Your ocean pictures are amazing.I love how you have captured the glistening sun on the seashore. The ocean speaks a language of its own and can be only best captured while being on site.I looked at that bread recipe and it looks like rain for a few days, so I think I’ll whip some up.

  6. These photos ARE just lovely. I am right with Anne and her pronouncement of the sea. I loved and still cherish moments from my visit to PEI, even though it was nine years ago last week. I’m thrilled to see it is still as beautiful as my memories of it.
