autumn gold

I woke up bright and early Saturday morning

with the sun streaming in through the kitchen windows.

Rain was in the forecast for the coming week,

so I decided to take an afternoon drive to capture a bit of autumn.

Early October is only the opening scene of an Island Autumn,

with the leaves just beginning to change in most areas.

In a week or so, these hills will be a blaze of colour.

I decided to head to the shore to watch the sunset,

stopping for a moment to capture goldenrod in golden light.

I arrived at Cavendish just in time to catch the last of the sun’s rays.

Wonderful shots Kathie. I felt like I was walking through an L M Montgomery novel – what she captured so perfectly in word pictures you have captured perfectly in digital photography:) We had a lovely huge Harvest Moon over our hills in South Australia too – how lovely to see it rising beautifully over your PEI horizon too. Simply breathtaking!

  3. Really, Kathie, you could easily turn this post into a calendar. The images are just gorgeous and so full of rich colours. Beautiful expressions of God’s creativity. That Cavendish shore shot is amazing in the range of shades in the sky. I was hoping someone had captured the gigantic harvest moon.

Hi Kathie, You always capture the beauty of our Island so well! You were pretty sharp on the Anne books -it is Anne of Avonlea. Take care, Carolyn
