1. 3 cups cranberries
  2. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  3. 3/4 cup water

Simmer cranberries and water together. While simmering , mash with potato masher.

Add sugar; simmer for 10 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sometimes I’ll add orange peel and  concentrated orange juice with the water.

Serve with chicken or turkey.

So easy, so good, so pretty!

I can sense the smells warming my kitchen already. Perfect dish.

Very, very pretty. I concur with everyone else that the cranberry and the bowl are perfect complements. Our cranberry salad recipe has been served at Thanksgiving for at least three generations, so it’s not likely that we’ll get to try a different one at Thanksgiving. 🙂 But on another special weekend…I see Chesterton’s St. Francis in your reading list. Have you read Elizabeth Goudge’s My God and My All about the same saint? Both are excellent reads. If you should need a rest after cooking and eating, please come take a stroll through my "garden in the rain." You are most welcome there.Josie Rayhttp://appalachiandream.blogspot.com
