endless gifts, prayer

calling to mind

We need deliberately to call to mind the joys of our journey. Perhaps we should try to write down the blessings of one day. We could never end; there are not pens or paper enough in all the world. George A Buttrick

Slow learner that I am, I’m still trying to count deliberately.

early morning
a sleeping household
stillness
birds’ sunrise song
sunlight through the trees

shining steeple
slanting ribbons of light on lawn
fresh, cool morning air

hydrangea beauty
time in the Word.

Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, you have been our dwelling place
   throughout all generations.
  Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
