fff ~ welcome September

Hello there and welcome to FFF. It’s time for the weekly blessing list, hosted by Susanne of Living to Tell The Story.

My brain hasn’t quite wrapped around the approach of fall. It must be post-wedding daze 🙂

Even though I always feel a twinge of sadness saying goodbye to summer’s soft beauty, I’m still glad to say hello to a Prince Edward Island September. It’s such a lovely time of year with so many things to enjoy.

Such as . . .

1. Garden bounty

Imagine walking out to the garden and filling a basket with freshly dug potatoes, beets and carrots  – feeling the warmth of the sun on your face as you pick green beans and sugar snap peas for your supper.

Steam them with some fresh basil and garlic. A dab of butter and a sprinkle of sea salt and ground pepper – add some barbecued steak or grilled salmon. Oh. my! Nothing tastes better.

2.September’s radiant light and colour

Oyster fishing (click to enlarge)3. The last of summer’s flowers ~ I’m drinking in their fragrant loveliness. They won’t be with us much longer.

4. Evening walks along the shore.

5. Campfires, quiet conversation, a glass of wine and a star-lit sky

Welcome September!

And a special thanks, my best of bloggy friends, for dropping in to say hi.

Many blessings to you and yours

with love,

Standard

  4. Before reading and seeing your post I was feeling a little stressed about what my day holds for me. But after looking, really looking, at your photos, I feel calmer. Beauty does that, doesn't it?! You've had a beautiful week. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Post-wedding daze…I relate, Kathie. Ha. My daughter’s room here is still full of wedding presents that she hasn’t taken “home” yet or returned. She & her husband are supposed to come visit in 2 weeks, so I’ve got to her stuff cleaned out so they’ll have a place to sleep. Your pictures are all stunning!
