Thrift store finds

Old Ramon, a Newberry runner up, by Jack Schaefer, and A Midnight Clear, by Katherine Paterson, are new to me.

But the other three are old friends. Especially Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown.

Don’t you just love the Lois Lenski illustrations? It just makes me smile to see Betsy’s cheery smile, Tacy’s shy, scared look and Tib’s golden curls and fancy muff.

And even better? A good deal – 4 books at $1.49 each and get the 5th free.

Bookish treasures ~ some of the best kind!

I loved Beverly Cleary. I think soon I'll see those kind of books around here again.

I dearly love the Betsy-Tacy books, and have them all, I think. The Moffats – hmm, I wonder if that's upstairs with the kid books. Beverly Cleary is one of my most favorites, though I don't think I've read this book. Great finds!
