You wouldn’t think Canadian Tire would be the place to buy sugar – but what a sale! I bought 12 bags and I’ll use them all between strawberry jam and pickle making. I have my Certo too. The bottles are waiting in the basement.

Now all I need are the berries! The season is just starting here on the Island. We ran out of jam last year and that was a disaster 🙂 so the kitchen will be a flurry of activity this week.

Doesn’t it smell lovely in the kitchen when you’re boiling jam? It’s the quintessential summer fragrance!

Looking forward to the first taste of fresh strawberry jam on home-made biscuits ~  there’s nothing like it!

Yum, yum, yum! Canadian Tire is great for bringing in the odd thing on a super sale.

That jam does look good! Do you also enjoy jam and cheese together? High five!

I totally agree…the way a kitchen smells while strawberry jam is being made is amazing. The jam is always marvelous, but oh, the cooking scent is really the very best part.My aunt used to make strawberry and raspberry freezer jam…she lived in Oregon and I only got to sample her jam once. That was over 40 years ago but the memory lingers.

  4. Good Morning Kathie. I’m glad you found a good sale on sugar. Who knew CT would have a deal. They’re more than just tires. 🙂 I hope to pick strawberries tomorrow or Thursday and make freezer jam before our daughter and her family arrive on Friday. I’m all out of freezer jam and they love it! Enjoy. Pamela
