It’s Friday and I’m glad to join with Susanne to count blessings. We’re not short of them  – in fact they’re running over!

1. First, and best of all, the newest member of our family!

Peter Alexander_sm

“Peter Alexander ~ born June 14th,2016.”

A wee baby brother for Josie and Isaiah.

Look at Isaiah – eyes for Mommy 🙂

And such a delighted smile from big sister!

A new baby is one of the sweetest blessings in life and we’re so thankful to the Lord for giving Peter to our family!

2. Do you remember 2014 ~ we called it The Year of the Babies. Three grandbabies born to our family in one year!!

Here we are Christmas 2014 – with arms~full and definitely, hearts~full! Did we ever think we could match that year? Or possibly surpass it??? Well . . . 2016 is  the year! Peter is the first of 4 babies due this year. Kinsey is expecting a little brother or sister in Dec. and Oscar is expecting twin siblings in late Oct-early Nov! What a sweet surprise! We’re doubling our grandchildren in one year. We’re over the moon ❤

There are so many other blessings that I’m thankful for – but they pale a little in the light of our precious grandchildren. I absolutely loved being a mom to my five little ones and the best thing about being a nanny is I get to do it all over again!

A favourite memory – beachtime with my little crew!

3. It’s summertime on Prince Edward Island and of course, that means beach time . . .

The weather  has been fabulous for summer-loving Islanders and tourists – day after day of warm sunny weather but it has been hard on our farmers. Thankfully, we’ve had some rain in the last few days which has been good for the crops, the gardens and certain bloggers ;). It’s hard to be inside when blue skies and beaches are calling . . .

So much fun! Swimming, jumping the waves, building sand-castles, looking for hermit crabs, and Josie even tried her hand at fishing . . .

Oh little girl – wish you could be here with your mummy and daddy too! Next year!!!

4. A little boy turned 2 this month.

We had Isaiah’s birthday party at a lovely park nearby – King’s Castle. A perfect spot for a family get-together.

Happy Birthday Isaiah!!  We love you to the moon and back!

5. One of the things I love about kayaking is the quietness. There’s nothing quite so peaceful.

Pure happiness . . .

I think I’m generally thankful for all the blessings in life –  but I’m forgetful! I’m so glad to have this little blog. It helps me remember these lovely moments in time. Reading it over is like double happiness – I’ve lived the moment and I get to re-live here! 🙂

I’ve been out of the blogging loop so I’m going to try to post a new series. Our Island summers are so short – and I’d like to capture a moment or two each day before it’s gone. Just a little bit of beauty. It makes so happy to do it.  I know they won’t be hard to find. The challenge will be remembering to put them here. But I’m going to give it a whirl.

Thanks so much for joining me here on Friday’s Favourite Five. Pop over to Susanne‘s for more.

with love and thanks for you,

Your summers are amazingly beautiful! I had to chuckle about the peace and quiet of kayaking. After all those grandchildren, you need a little peace and quiet 🙂
What a blessing your grandchildren are! Yours seem to come in ‘bunches’.

  11. Hi Kathie, this is my first visit to your blog. I’m your neighbor at Friday’s Fave Five.

Congratulations on all those beautiful grandchildren! What a joy to have so many little ones in your life. I really appreciate your comment about getting to do it all over again now that you have grandchildren. I don’t have grands yet, but I look forward to the day I do. I absolutely loved being a mom, and sometimes, I’m unsure if anything can compare with that.

Your island looks so beautiful. Such stunning photos!! Do you know Sandi, who blogs at Rose Chintz Cottage. She is a fellow PEI gal. I’ve been enjoying her photos of your gorgeous island for several years now.
